Practical Information - Jægersborg Hegn

There is a primitive toilet at the campsite by Strandmøllen.

Bonfire sites are found at Tørvehus Sletten, Bøllemosen, Terrasserne, at Skodsborgvej, Strandmøllen and Stampen. The bonfire sites may be used without pre-booking and you may collect twigs and branches from the forest floor.

There are primitive campsites where you can pitch your tent for two days without seeking permission; these are at Køromvej in the northern part of Jægersborg Hegn and at the entrance at Strandmøllevej. Here, you will also find a shelter which, however, needs booking in advance.

The forest roads in Jægersborg Hegn are suitable for both people with mobility issues and prams.

If you have a valid angling licence, you may angle in Bøllemosen, Skodsborg Dam, Raadvaddam, Strandmølledam and Stampedam.

You are free to angle in Bøllemosen, and the ponds Skodsborgdam, Raadvaddam, Strandmølledam and Stampedam.

Many people use nature - and for widely different purposes. Therefore, a set of rules have been laid down for the use of nature.

The rules have been made to make the trip into nature a good and positive experience for as many people as possible.

In Jægersborg Hegn Dyrehaven you will find marked Kløverstier (“Clover trails”) which take walkers through beautiful nature. Kløverstierne may be found on the Endomondo app – download the app for free and search for the nearest trails while standing in Jægersborg Hegn. The four Kløverstier start at Skodsborg Station.

You may ride your bicycle on all paths and forest roads; however, not on the forest floor nor down slopes nor on stone fences nor burial mounds.

The National Cycle Route No 9 which leads from Helsingør to Rødby, runs along the east boundary of Jægersborg Hegn from Strandmøllen to Kørom.

There are several marked bridle paths in Jægersborg Hegn. Remember to bring a valid riding license.

Dogs are permitted to run freely, albeit under supervision, in the dog play area in the north-eastern part of Jægersborg Hegn between Kystbanen and Strandvejen. In all other areas, dogs must be kept on their leash for the sake of the wildlife and other visitors to the forest.

SkodsborgRuten is a theme trail for RudersdalRuten focusing on a combination of exercise, nature experience and reflection. The trail is a 6.6-kilometre-long, signposted trail starting and ending at Skodsborg Kurhotel og Spa at Skodsborg Strandvej. The trail cuts through Jægersborg Hegn, the northern part of Dyrehaven and Raadvad.
