Jægersborg Deer Park

With its ancient, solitary oak trees, wide open plains grazed by herds of deer, sweeping views across the landscape shaped by woodland and subglacial stream channels, Jægersborg Dyrehave offers a rare glimpse of Denmark’s primeval countryside. The area has remained largely unchanged for some 350 years, and is inscribed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List because of its Par Force hunting landscape. Trees are allowed to grow old and fall naturally, and once they do, they are left to decompose.
